Osteoarthritis

Osteoarthritis is the most common form of arthritis, resulting in inflammation or swelling and pain in the joints. Unlike rheumatoid arthritis, which affects multiple areas, osteoarthritis is limited to joint function.

Osteoarthritis affects 21 million Americans over age 25.  Before age 45, it is more commonly seen in men; after age 45 it is more common in women.  By the year 2030, it is estimated that 72 million people will have osteoarthritis.
